Dear SBI Members, business colleagues, and partners,
The first SBI #SMEIndaba of the year will be on Thursday, 11 April, at the Bryanston Country Club in Johannesburg.
We hope you can join us for what promises to be another memorable morning of speeches, debates and inspiration. Giving us ‘bang for our bucks’ are Keynote Speakers Sipho Pityana, BUSA president and an early and bold voice against state capture; Nozabelo Ruth Bhengu, chair of the parliamentary portfolio committee on small business; and the irrepressible GG Alcock, author of KasiNomics and KasiNomic Revolution – The rise of African Informal Economies.
We’ve asked the First Panel - representatives from the ANC, the DA and the EFF - to discuss their party manifestos, explaining their specific proposals to put SMMEs front and centre in our national discussions about growth and inclusiveness. We will ask for their commitment to give SMMEs the conditions to grow and create the jobs our country so desperately needs. And we’ll ask them how they will ensure municipalities can better engage with business chambers on the ground.
The Second Panel will explore the successes of business chambers and municipalities working together and the challenges for chambers in communities with dysfunctional or disengaged municipalities - what works, what doesn’t, how can we better align our interests?
We will end the day on a high note, inspired by the stories of our Third Panel of innovative, inspiring and energetic entrepreneurs.
Date: Thursday 11 April 2019 Time: 08:30 for 9:00 – 14:30 Venue: The Bryanston Country Club, 63 Bryanston Dr, Johannesburg RSVP: Click on the below button to book your seat.
